Private, recreational, sport pilot ground school This is a twelve week course from 6:00-9:00pm Monday evenings. This course will prepare you to take the FAA exam. Maine Coastal flight is also a FAA exam testing center.

Recreational and Private Pilot lessons are available right from the Bar Harbor Airport.
The Minimum number of hours to obtain a Recreational Pilot Certificate is 30 hours.
The minimum number of hours to obtain a Private Pilot Certificate is 40 hours, of which 20 hours are with one of our Flight Instructors.

Erik Vroom
Erik Vroom is now a full time flight instructor.
Erik has flown scenic flights with us for the last two years and is now a flight instructor. We are happy to announce that he is available now for flight lessons for the recreational, sport, and private pilots licenses as well as BFR'S. He has joined the staff of instructors including Bob Mealey, and Nate Jordan, as well as Cirrus instructors Dennis Bradley, and David Vroom.
